The Palais de la découverte is offering a lecture cycle to coincide with the "Pasteur, the Experimenter" exhibition, with scientific advice from Maxime Schwartz, former President of the Institut Pasteur and scientific curator of the exhibition. Note that the exhibition will be held at the Palais de la découverte until August 19, 2018.
Louis Pasteur, a qualified chemist, was behind the greatest scientific revolutions of the 19th century in the fields of biology, agriculture, medicine and hygiene. He is particularly renowned for his work in developing the vaccine against rabies. His discoveries influenced the outcome of the Great War. Today, scientists are continuing his research in microbiology to tackle the emergence of new diseases and develop future vaccines. We are therefore delving into history to find solutions for the challenges of today and tomorrow.
