How AI revolutionizes virus observation

The Institut Pasteur uses artificial intelligence to transform the observation of cells infected with SARS-CoV-2.
 
Using holotomography microscopy, we obtain impressively clear black-and-white images.
 
AI then analyzes these images and colors each element: nuclei in red, mitochondria in green, and lipids in blue. 
This innovative technology enables us to monitor, in real time, the evolution of cells in the face of different variants such as Omicron. 
A major progress in understanding viral infections, with the hope of improving public health!
