A l’occasion de la journée scientifique de la 49^ème Réunion des Directeurs du Réseau International des instituts Pasteur, le Pr. Ramata Ly-Bakayoko, Ministre de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche Scientifique de Côte d’Ivoire, Pr Françoise Barré-Sinoussi et Pr. Christian Bréchot ont remis le prix Dedonder-Clayton 2017 au Dr Richard Njouom.

Depuis sa création en 1972, l’Institut Pasteur de Côte d’Ivoire est un des piliers de la recherche et de la santé publique du pays et de la région. Au cours des 10 dernières années, l’institut a amorcé un virage technologique de grande ampleur pour devenir aujourd’hui un des établissements les plus en pointe de l’Afrique de l’ouest. Since its creation in 1972, the Institut Pasteur in Côte d'Ivoire is one of the pillars of research and public health in the country and the region. Over the past 10 years, the institute has undergone a major technological shift to become one of the most advanced institutions in West Africa. Interview with Prof. Mireille Dosso, Director of the Institut Pasteur in Côte d'Ivoire.

Researchers of the virology laboratory at the Institut Pasteur in French Guiana, in collaboration with the Military Health Service, have just demonstrated, through a study carried out on about ten male patients, that the Zika virus remains present in the semen for 30 to 45 days after the onset of the first symptoms due to infection with the virus. In a patient, this duration was 188 days.

L’Institut Pasteur de Côte d’Ivoire organisera en liaison avec la Direction international de l’Institut Pasteur le Conseil des Directeurs du Réseau International des Instituts Pasteur à Abidjan du 20 au 22 septembre prochains. Près de 80 personnes venant des 33 instituts membres du réseau seront présentes à ce rendez-vous majeur pour la communauté pasteurienne qui permet chaque année de faire le point sur les actions communes et valider les axes majeurs de développement du réseau.

Les chercheurs du laboratoire de virologie de l’Institut Pasteur de la Guyane, en collaboration avec le Service de santé des armées, viennent de démontrer, à travers une étude menée sur une dizaine de patients masculins, que le virus du Zika reste présent dans le sperme pendant 30 à 45 jours après l’apparition des premiers symptômes dus à une infection par ce virus. Chez un patient, cette durée s’est élevée à 188 jours.

The Institut Pasteur in Côte d'Ivoire will organize, in coordination with the Department of international Affairs of the Institut Pasteur, the Institut Pasteur International Network Directors council in Abidjan from 20 to 22 September. Nearly 80 people coming from the 33 member institutes of the network will be present at this major gathering for the Pasteurian community which allows each year to take stock of common actions and validate the major axes of development of the network.
