Pour la 3e année consécutive, Sanofi renouvelle son mécénat à l’Institut Pasteur en reconduisant les prix Sanofi-Institut Pasteur en 2014. Ces prix soutiendront quatre travaux de recherche innovants susceptibles d’apporter un réel progrès dans les sciences du vivant et des réponses à des problèmes majeurs de santé mondiale dans quatre domaines : les maladies tropicales négligées, l’immunologie, les résistances aux médicaments et la neurobiologie.

La date limite de dépôt des dossiers est fixée au 16 mai 2014. Les prix seront remis aux lauréats le 13 novembre 2014.

A travers son soutien dans les programmes de recherche contre le sida et le paludisme, la Fondation Areva fait partie de ces mécènes qui font avancer la recherche biomédicale à l’Institut Pasteur. Sylvie Poitrenaud, déléguée générale de la Fondation, explique les raisons de ce partenariat de longue date.

The Institut Pasteur in Paris will host the Scientific Symposium of the Institut Pasteur International Network (RIIP) - a three-day scientific conference - followed by the different meetings with the Directors from the Network. The aim of the meeting is to reinforce the interactions between scientists from the various institutes of the network and between scientists working on the campus in Paris and those working within the network. Thus, scientists of the campus in Paris are most welcome to send abstracts describing projects which involve both Paris and the network.

The Americas Meeting of the Institut Pasteur International Network which includes the Institut Pasteur in Guadeloupe, Guyana, Montevideo, the Institut Armand-Frappier and the Fiocruz, has been organized by the Centre INRS - Institut Armand-Frappier in Laval on the 1st of August, 2014 as part of the International Union of Microbiological Societies' Conference that took place in Montreal from July 30th to August 1st, 2014.
 

The Institut Pasteur, all the scientists and administrative staff, wish to express their deep sadness after the crash of the MH17 flight. This tragedy is the result of stupidity and barbary. We think of all those people who died so tragically and their families. Also, we will remember all our colleagues who have dedicated their lives to the fight against HIV. We know how this will affect the international community and the international societies working on this major challenge for public health.

Researchers examined the mechanisms involved in tuberculosis (TB) transmission to explain why tubercle bacilli of animal origin don't spread within human populations. Their work opens up new possibilities for understanding the functions and mechanisms involved in TB transmission in humans and could eventually lead to therapeutic solutions for preventing the spread of this infectious agent.

Scientists from the Institut Pasteur and the CNRS have recently revealed the cause behind the emergence in the 1960s of neonatal infections due to group B streptococcus. These findings prove that the sudden emergence of infections caused by this bacterium resulted from the widespread use of an antibiotic, tetracycline, from the 1950s onwards.

Du 10 au 13 septembre 2014, l’Institut Pasteur accueillera le symposium scientifique du Réseau International des Instituts Pasteur (RIIP), un rendez-vous scientifique de trois jours prolongé par plusieurs tables-rondes et réunions en présence des directeurs et scientifiques du RIIP. 

Le groupe de protection sociale et patrimoniale AG2R LA MONDIALE renouvelle cette année l’opération Roulons Solidaires au profit des recherches menées à l’Institut Pasteur.

L’ensemble des scientifiques et des personnels administratifs de l’Institut Pasteur, souhaite exprimer sa profonde tristesse après le crash du vol MH17.
