On 7 December 2018, the Institut Pasteur organized a ceremony in honor of young graduates who completed their science thesis at the Institut Pasteur during the 2017-2018 academic year. This ceremony exists since 2013. Opened by an exceptional conference of Prof. Serge Haroche, Nobel Prize in Physics 2012, the 2018 edition honored, among these young Pasteurian scientists, five who completed their thesis in a member institute of the Institut Pasteur International Network.
"We are pleased and proud to welcome to the Institut Pasteur campus these young graduates who embody a new generation of researchers from the Institut Pasteur International Network," said Marc Jouan, Vice-President International Affairs and International Network, at the Institut Pasteur (Paris).
The five doctoral students carried out their work in the institutes of Tunis, New Caledonia, Madagascar, Hellenic and at the Pole of Research Pasteur - University of Hong-Kong on topics as varied as the characterization of proteins biological activities from salivary glands of ticks, the study of arbovirosis vectors in the Pacific region or the contribution of Anopheles in the propagation of the Plasmodium parasite in Madagascar, the study of receptors related to nervous system diseases and the study of factors involved in the immune response during the infection.
