The renewal of the status of the association Pasteur International Network "as a non-state actor in official relations" with WHO was confirmed by the Executive Board on 31 January 2019 for 3 years in accordance with a 2019-2021 collaboration plan, submitted in autumn 2018.
The themes of this collaboration are:
- promotion of the strategy and support for WHO activities within the framework of its 13th work programme
- offering technical support to WHO, particularly in case of disease outbreaks, and assistance to countries to strengthen their health systems and capacities, in particular concerning access to data
- offering training to strengthen countries' capacities to comply with the International Health Regulations (IHR), and in the context of communicable diseases, the Association Pasteur International, created in 2011, is the legal entity of the Institut Pasteur International Network.
This renewal highlights the network's major role in global health and the importance of its relationship with WHO.
This status allows the association Pasteur International Network to participate in the World Health Assembly and to increase the visibility of the Network on issues related to its activities, in line with the previous statements over the last two years.
