Thursday, October. 16th, 2014 the Institut Pasteur in Paris welcomed the “Académie Diplomatique Internationale” for a briefings on new analytical methods solving critical gaps in global public health. Flowminder made a presentation on methods consisting to use anonymized mobile phone network data with the aim to improve operational decision making in a range of areas including disaster response and climate impacts, disease outbreak prevention, and poverty reduction. The discussions were conducted around the Ebola outbreak. The work of Flowminder is done in close collaboration with telecom operators, NGOs, and government agencies, assuring scientific rigor while building local capacity.
