In 2023, the Institut Pasteur successfully concluded its 2019-2023 strategic plan, strengthening its scientific excellence and attractiveness through dynamic investments and partnerships.
Yasmine Belkaid has been appointed President, beginning a six-year term. In his interview with the President, Yves Saint-Geours, Chairman of the Board of Governors, emphasises the Institute’s solidity and independence, enabling it to take risks and continue to invest in major projects. The new President stresses the importance of attracting young talent and creating the right conditions for them to flourish.
The Institut Pasteur is preparing to meet the major scientific and societal challenges of tomorrow, notably through a new strategic plan currently under construction and through collaboration with its partners.
The central section of the report is devoted to “adaptation”, subtitled: “Resistance, resilience. In an ever-changing world, adaptability is crucial”. It occurs whenever anything exceeds its natural limit – examples include microbial resistance, scientific innovation and the evolution of the human immune system. This special feature highlights the incredible complexity of adaptation processes.
