A better diagnosis of endometriosis
Screening for endometriosis is the challenge facing Institut Pasteur researcher Camille Berthelot. With her team, she is working to find a biological marker for early and easy detection of this chronic disease.

One woman in ten suffers from various forms of this gynecological disease, which can be very debilitating. Diagnosis takes a long time, averaging seven years. To date, there is no screening to prevent endometriosis.
Camille and her team have launched a study on volunteer women, both healthy and ill. They will transmit samples of their menstrual flow. The uterine tissue they contain will be used to collect and compare messenger RNAs from these two population typologies.
Ideally, Camille would like women to be able to go to any medical analysis laboratory and submit a biological sample. This non-invasive technique could prevent endometriosis and certain uterine cancers.
