The Institut Pasteur in Algeria diagnoses the first case of MERS-coronavirus

Since June 10th, the General Directorate of Prevention of the Ministry of Health in Algeria and the Institut Pasteur in Algeria remains on alert following the death of a man contaminated during a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia by a new type of coronavirus-MERS (MERS-Cov). The diagnosis of the first case detected in Algeria was made by Dr. Derrar and his team in the Institut Pasteur in Algeria. A second less virulent case of MERS-Cov infection, was confirmed by the Institut Pasteur in Algeria but until now, no other coronavirus harm has been confirmed by the reference laboratory of the Institut Pasteur in Algeria.
