The Institut Pasteur of Shanghaï celebrates its tenth anniversary

The Institut Pasteur in Shanghai, created jointly in 2004 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Shanghai Municipality and the Institut Pasteur in Paris, celebrated its 10th anniversary and the fiftieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and China during the scientific symposium focused on Research on infectious diseases in a globalized world organized in October 17th, 2014.

For this occasion, Chinese and French politicians and scientists, such as Pr. Francoise Barre-Sinoussi, 2008 Nobel Prize, met on the prestigious campus of the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences to discuss about research in infectious disease in the era of globalization. The three sessions (i) epidemiology and public health (ii) research and (iii)  prevention & therapies, have allowed to review the current state of research for diseases such as AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, hepatitis or hand-foot-mouth viral disease, as well as current and future therapies to better understand the associated public health issues.
